Fiji National Fire Authority reportedly received complaints from customers. They allegedly had called the NFA to have a fire extinguisher installed, but when they needed to use it, the fire extinguisher did not work, or the extinguishing agent was not the one stated on the label. As a consequence, the fire was not completely put out. In other cases, fire agents have removed the fire extinguishers for maintenance, but never returned them. The number of home fires in Fiji has increased, so authorities have been reasonably worried by these complaints, and decided to inspect all fire agents in order to check who is working complying with the required standards and who is not.
